|
The 15HA is a 10 bit Gray or Binary Absolute Encoder
in a standard size 15 synchro stainless steel frame.
The unit boasts a high environmental specification with a wide temperature
range, sealing to IP67 and high shock / vibration characteristics.
As a result it is suitable for both Heavy Duty Industrial and
Defence applications, especially where space is at a premium. |

Typical Specs:
Electrical
Mechanical |
This is a versatile range
of size 24 rugged 10 to 19 bit Gray or Binary Absolute Encoders.
The 24HA has a stainless steel body, sealed to IP67, which can
be customised to comply with specific mechanical, electrical and
environmental requirements. Output formats include Parallel, Serial or CANbus
Current applications include AFV Gun Elevation and Turret Position
Sensors, Gunner & Commander Sights, Steering control, Sonar
Systems and Missile Launchers.

|
This is a Heavy Duty Absolute Encoder with a flanged
stainless steel front plate and a robust anodised aluminium body,
sealed to IP67. Most suitable for rugged Industrial applications,
it offers up to 19 bit Gray or Binary code with parallel or SSI outputs.

|
The 45HA Absolute Encoder
is a High Reliability device which generates up to 14 bit Gray
or Binary code with differential line driver outputs. It has an
anodised Aluminium body and is sealed to IP65. The operating temperature
is -10 to +45 deg. C and it has an MTBF >237,000 hours at 25
deg. C. This encoder is suitable for both Industrial and Defence,
fit and forget applications. |
Multiturn

Typical Specs:
Electrical
Mechanical
|
The 15HM is a high resolution multi-turn Absolute
Encoder, which offers up to 16 bit Gray or Binary outputs over
64 turns of the encoder shaft. It has a stainless steel body and
is sealed to IP67, with a high environmental specification offering
a wide temperature range and robust shock and vibration characteristics.
It is an extremely compact encoder which is ideal for demanding
industrial or Defence applications where high resolution is required
and space is at a premium. It is widely used in Fire Control Systems
for armoured vehicles.
|
Contact Encoders
These encoders use a series of sliding switches rather than optoelectronic
components to generate their output code.

Typical Specs:
Electrical
Mechanical
|
This is a light industrial Contact style Encoder
housed in a stainless steel size 11 synchro frame. It generates
an 8 bit Gray output code when supplied with between 5 to 30V.
Current applications include forestry equipment used for measuring
stiffness and thickness of wood.
|

Typical Specs:
Electrical
Mechanical
|
This is a Contact style Encoder containing a high precision integral gearbox allowing
it to generate 12 bit Gray code over 16 turns of the input shaft.
All structural and functional metalwork in this device is stainless
steel enabling it to be used in Naval applications for precision
measurement.

Typical Specs:
Electrical
Mechanical
|
This is a Contact style
Encoder used primarily by the water industry. It has the advantage
of extremely low power consumption compared to optical styles
when used with dataloggers or telemetry systems based in remote
locations. It has an 8 bit Gray output which can be scaled using
pulley type P256 to correspond to 1mm steps in water level. |

Typical Specs:
Electrical
Mechanical
|
The 24ZM series of multi-turn Absolute
Contact Encoders can be used to measure water level via a float
actuated pulley. A Gray output code of up to 12 bits is generated
which allows 1mm measurement resolution over a 4096mm range. As
the code is continuously available whether or not the encoder
is being powered the water level datum is not altered by random
failures in supply voltage. This design also lends itself to a
situation where the power needs to be switched off periodically
by the user to conserve energy. |
Hollow Shaft

|
Hollow shaft encoders using either conventional
optoelectronic technology or Hall Effect magnetic sensors are
available.
The HSA-100 Series is based on a 25mm bore size and is designed
to withstand temperature ranges from
-46 to +85 Centigrade. It
has a high tolerance to shock and vibration making it suitable
for a variety of Heavy Duty applications. One variant is currently
used in an armoured vehicle control system.
